TAMARA PODEMSKI (Maureen) Tamara Ceshia Podemski is living out her wildest dreams with her musical theatre debut in Rent. From Ojibway/Israeli parents, Tamara was born and raised in Toronto and graduated from the Claude Watson School for the Arts, where she majored in dance for ten years. Her theatre credits include The Baby Blues for Native Earth Performing Arts and Aboriginal Dance Project for The Banff Centre;television includes CBC's The Rez, Global's Ready Or Not and the German series Blue Hawk; film includes Bruce MacDonald's Dance Me Outside and the Canadian Film Centre's Triggered. Television: Tamara played Carla on the series Ready or Not, she also co-starred in the television show, The Rez, where she met her fiancee, Darrell Dennis.
RENT: Originated the role of Mark's mom and others in the Canadian Cast, also understudied Maureen Johnson. In July of 1998, Tamara came to Broadway and took over the role of Mark's mom and others previously played by Jessica Boevers and Tracey Langran. On December 9, 1998, Tamara took over the role of Maureen full time.
